Redefining Midlife: Embracing the Power of Menopause

May 24, 20255 min read

I thought midlife meant slowing down. Instead, it lit a fire I didn’t see coming.

Let’s be real, most of us grew up thinking menopause was something that happened later. Something that came with grey hair, orthopedic shoes, and jokes about hot flashes.

No one told me it could start in my late 30’s.
No one said I’d feel like a stranger in my own body.
And definitely no one said it could be the start of something better.

But it was.

This isn’t a crisis…it’s a recalibration

I get it. Midlife can look and feel like a crisis.

The brain fog.
The weight gain.
The insomnia, joint pain, night sweats, rage, apathy, depression, anxiety... sometimes all in one day.
You start to question everything.

Your marriage.
Your job.
Your worth.
Your identity.

You can’t remember names or why you walked into the room.
You cry at insurance commercials.
You rage at your email inbox.
And your libido is… let’s just say, missing in action.

It’s easy to think you’re broken.
But you’re not.
You’re just shedding the parts of yourself that no longer serve who you’re becoming.

Menopause is your body’s way of saying: Time’s up

Time’s up on people-pleasing.
Time’s up on putting yourself last.
Time’s up on the version of success that looks good but feels awful.

If you’re anything like me, your pre-menopausal years were all about survival. Hustling, achieving, pushing through. Trying to be everything to everyone and leaving yourself scraps.

Menopause forces a reckoning.
You can’t ignore your needs anymore.
You can’t pretend that burning yourself out is sustainable.
You can’t keep living on autopilot.

And honestly? That’s a good thing.

What if this is the beginning, not the end?

I used to think my best years were behind me.
That maybe I missed my shot.

But something wild happened once I stopped fighting the symptoms and started listening to them.
I didn’t get weaker.
I got bolder.
Clearer.
Wiser.

I stopped settling.
I started saying no faster.
I started building a business that aligned with my values…not my resume.

And then there’s the business side of it

So many women find themselves walking away from careers they once loved (or tolerated) right around the time menopause hits.
Maybe it’s the brain fog. Maybe it’s the toxic workplace.
Maybe it’s the sheer exhaustion of keeping up appearances while your body is in chaos.

Or maybe, like me, you just woke up one day and realized: I can’t do this anymore.

And from that clarity (or that breakdown) comes a different kind of decision:
To build something of your own.
To finally create work that aligns with your energy, your values, and your freedom.

Entrepreneurship during menopause isn’t just about building a business.
It’s about reclaiming agency.
It’s about creating space to work in a way that actually supports your nervous system and honours your needs.

It’s not always graceful.
It’s rarely linear.
But it’s
yours.

And in a world that didn’t prepare us for this phase of life, there’s something wildly powerful about creating your own damn roadmap.

Redefining what it means to be a “midlife woman”

Let’s burn the old script.

We are not invisible.
We are not irrelevant.
We are not in decline.

We are seasoned.
We are done with BS.
We are reclaiming our time, our voice, our pleasure, our purpose.

You don’t have to settle into a smaller life just because you’re in a bigger body or a different hormonal state.
You don’t have to wait for your symptoms to disappear to feel alive again.
You don’t have to “get through it” quietly.

You can talk about it.
You can laugh about it.
You can rage about it.
You can
lead through it.

Midlife isn’t a curse…it’s an invitation.

The truth no one told us

The truth is, menopause isn’t just a medical event.
It’s a spiritual one.
A reckoning.
A stripping away of every version of yourself you were performing to keep the peace.

And yes, it’s hard.
Yes, it’s unfair that no one warned us.
Yes, the system failed us…again.

But now that we know, we get to change the story.

We get to talk about it.
Support each other through it.
Build businesses that work
with our bodies instead of against them.
Say no to hustle and yes to health.
Say no to shrinking and yes to expansion.

Here’s what I know: the second half of your life can be the best half if you let it be.

You’re not too old.
You’re just getting started.
And you’re not alone in this.

If you’re navigating this wild ride of hormones, identity, and ambition all colliding at once, I see you. I am you.
And I’ve built everything I do to support women exactly like us.

Come sit with me. We’ll talk menopause, midlife, money, business and everything in between.

Let’s turn this hot flash into a damn glow-up.
